CloudKid Presents Silent Child - Tortured Thoughts EP

Silent Child’s debut EP ‘Tortured Thoughts‘ is here. Showcasing the very best of his new found cutting-edge sound, this EP speaks volumes for an artist that was hidden and silenced for so long.   Silent Child – AKA Rodney Cooke – is a Black & Hispanic producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Atlanta. Growing up with Asperger’s, Rodney found his voice and broke his silence through music. Building his sound continuously over the past year, ‘Tortured Thoughts’ is now a collection of this growth; one kept cohesive through his rocktronic style production, his relentlessly honest lyricism and the indisputable talent to convey his strong emotions through music. The lead single ‘Jump’ demonstrating this brilliantly as he explains:

“I have an immense self loathing problem, but my image improved when I saw how much people started to like my music. At the same time, my stress increased because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to sustain it for long. So that’s what the verses are about. But the chorus can be taken at least 2 different ways. The first is kinda obvious… saying that maybe I should just let my feelings and my depression get the best of me and force me to do something stupid. While the second is me saying that maybe I should just take a leap of faith and believe in myself. I’m not gonna listen to the people who told me that I can’t achieve what I set out to achieve. I like to think that I’m talking about both options in the song”

»I'm not gonna listen to the people who told me that I can't achieve what I set out to achieve«

Along the way, Silent Child has now been recognised across the board by leading Spotify Editorial playlists (Alternative Beats, Fresh Finds, Sludge, Creamy); received uploads from all major YouTube channels (Mr.SuicideSheep. xKito, Cloudkid); as well as features from the likes of Before The Data, EDM.com and Earmilk. Building so much momentum, ‘Tortured Thoughts’ is set for an unmissable climax. Check it out on Cloudkid now.
