CloudKid Presents Apollo On The Run - Medusa (feat. updog)
A dark, powerful pop track, UK-based Apollo on the Run joins forces with Berlin-based artist updog, to release ‘Medusa,’ a song narrating a troublesome and abusive romantic connection and the fight to reclaim one’s power.
He says about the song, “The song is painting a picture of an extremely problematic and abusive relationship. The lyrics portray the protagonist feeling like they have a noose around their neck, that they believe their partner will keep pushing them until they find a suicide note. The imagery of Medusa is key here to showcase the sensation of feeling paralyzed, one look and they turn you to stone. Ultimately the song is meant to be empowering, a reclaiming of power. The screaming in the end symbolizes the protagonist finally taking a stand. Their partner has not broken them, despite their best efforts.”
