CloudKid Presents Crypto & updog - Heathens
The interesting, albeit, unexpected duo, Crypto & updog, are back with updog taking center stage on lead vocals with this gloriously haunting cover of twenty one pilots’ movie soundtrack hit, ‘Heathens.’ The track didn’t come without some dark energy and influences, of course, perfect for the spookiest time of the year. The atmosphere of this alt-pop, electronically infused banger changes the game of Crypto and updog’s ongoing collaboration.
The lyrics are also especially fitting for what unfolded between the two during their joint production session. “We don’t deal with outsiders very well; they say newcomers have a certain smell. You have trust issues, not to mention; they say they can smell your intentions,” as written by twenty one pilots frontman, Tyler Joseph. Of which perfectly details the dark, eerie night that updog entered a back garden, for a quick recording break, that ended up being infested with zombies. As he stood fearful and unsure of who to trust more, Crypto or the plague of dead men surrounding him, ready to grab and pull him under, it didn’t take long before Crypto swooped in to “save the day,” zapping — and “rescuing” — the scared singer back into their own world. But hey, at least they both finished the song…
»We don't deal with outsiders very well; they say newcomers have a certain smell.«
